Model: 1991 explorer 4-door, 4WD, EB. 207k mls.
Issue: lower air filter housing is broken where clips (tangs?) from upper housing usually fit into; in other words, housing does not currently close.
facts: While perusing the local 'pull it yourself' wrecking yard last weekend, I noticed several fords with similar or same air intake systems (this particular lot had scads of Aerostars, Sables, Rangers, and Tauruses (sp?) which take the same air filter; alas, no explorers in yard).
Question: Anyone know of other fords which have the same lower air filter housing?
Does anyone have a part no. cross reference? (does that exist?)
