Hello,

I have a 96 Explorer Limited.

Today I had the tires replaced, I made sure I turned off the air ride system switch.

When I got the truck back, the switch was off, I turned it on and drove off. However the truck will not lower, I can hear the compresser come on and off when I put it in 4wd or park it. But the ride hight is at maximum and is stuck in the firm position.

I tried jacking it up by the rear axle, driving on the freeway with the switch on, and off, driving over speed bumps, and rocking the truck, and standing on the back bumper.

It wont budge. Any suggestions? Will it lower after sitting a few days?

Is there a way to drain the air out of the shocks?

Please help! The ride is horrible like this.

Update:

Today I removed the spare tire, unbolted the left and right lower part of the air shocks, fully extended them and then compressed them. I bolted the shocks back up, re-installed spare tire, checked parked height-okay. Test drive truck all-okay.
