I am having serious problems with my air ride system on my 96 limited. I am trying to fit Long trail 31x10.5's on, but I need to add-a-leaf in the back. I was just told that my car has a height sensor that somehow measures the distance from the ground. When it senses that the car has "bounced", it pumps air into the shocks making it a softer ride.

Personally I hate it, and I wanted to switch to a mechanical system, but I was worried that I wouldnt be able to sell the car back if I ever needed to (hopefully not).

Anyway, if any of this is true, how do I offset it so that it wont constantly pump air into my shocks unnecesarily. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

John, if I remember right, a friend of mine disabled the auto ride system with a switch that was located somewhere inside the door/panel of the jack storage compartment. I never checked back with him as to how the ride was, or if he left it turned off.
