I have a 400 watt max pioneer subwoofer that I buit a custom box for in my 2 door blazer. The box has a volume of just a shade under .75 of cubic foot of air space. Wil this be enough air space or should I maybe go with a 8inch subwoofer? I am pretty sure the model number for the sub is : TS-W28C

recommended for that sub is 1.0 cubic feet.

if you have 0.75 id invert mount it and put a pound of polyfill in the box and see how you like it. Providing the box is sealed

well with an 8 inch you have significantly less cone area to work with. But that 10 inch sub is fairly entry level.

A good 8 inch sub could probably edge it out in that box....Resonant engineering has some kickass 8s and apparently elemental designs has some good ones too

I picked me up a MTX thunder 6000 8inch subwoofer today so Im gonna install it and see how it sounds.

be careful installing it not to make any blemishes on the sub itself..if you dont like how it sounds just take it back.

i have 2 mtx 8000 15s in my exploder right now getting 1250 watts a piece in 6.7 cubic feet tuned to 38 hz with some decent port area. It gets fairly loud but anything will with that much power in that box. Not very impressed by them, but they do the job i suppose

so how did the 8 sound?

not sure yet wont be till next week I just finished building my box today and I have to let the wood sealer dry and then put another coat on so im looking at wednesday is the try out day.
