Airbag (Crash) Sensor - Where to Buy?

I'm getting SRS code 44 "RH crash sensor not mounted to vehicle properly"

I need to get this fixed for my Inspection (due Wednesday - ooops).

Where can i buy a new sensor (besides Ford - if they'd sell it w/o install)? I'd rather not pay (as i've already been quoted) for an hour of labor to diagnose the problem when i, myself, know the problem every time i start the vehicle, plus the labor to install the sensor.

Sure you can buy it and instal your self. I would only go with Ford though.
I am not sure if aftermarket even exists.

Did you try to adjust the sensor ?

Is it level and pointing forward ?

Thanks MONMIX - i called Ford Saturday and the sensor is $117. To be safe, I'm going to pick one up today, open up the front end to try and fix the old one tonight, and if all else fails, replace it. Would it be possible to just plug in the new sensor without mounting it to check if the sensor is actually the problem BEFORE i mess with the old one?

No, the sensor will " know " it is not mounted.
