Airflow question.

Hey all

recently my aerostar (97, 3.0, 200,00km) has been struggling to get up hills/poor acceleration, rough idle when cold, revving high. check engine is on.

i changed the air filter today and it was pretty nasty.

could my symptoms and the light be due to my MAF sensor? if so, what is the best way for a noob to clean it/should i have someone look at it?
