I'll try to make this short. My battery went dead and my alarm started going off. The battery ended up having a dead cell so i replaced it and called the ford dealership. The service dept said that when your battery gets low enough it will set off the alarm. Now i need to know how to reset the alarm. On a side note the lights are not blinking but the horn is going off. right now i'm driving around without a horn. I'm going to call the dealership back but if anyone could help it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

try turning the ignition on and pressing the valet switch a couple times. What happens when you do this?

I don't want to sound like a total idiot (i don't think i can help it in this situation) but what's the valet switch?

sorry, just a little botton or toggle switch. Usually it's mounted under the dash somewhere. Is the alarm led stuck on?

When this happened to me 2 years ago. I changed my battery to a Die Hard Gold and changed the Alarm as well at the same time. Problem solved. Unless you got Ford Warranty on that alarm do not go to a dealership to get that thing fixed. Go to a local alarm shop guy, they should have a basic alarm for around $150 installed.

The alarm led isn't stuck on. Actually, aside from the horn sounding, everything about the alarm system seems to be functioning properly. Sorry, i should have mentioned this in my first post, but the alarm is the PATSII alarm that comes with the truck. Does this type of alarm have a Valet switch also? Thanks for your responses.

Any good alarm should have a valet switch. It's usually installed underneath the dash. Out of sight but within reach when you're on the driver seat.
