My younger son is looking at buying a 4X4 2001 Chev pickup. So I checked the reliability trouble spots and one stated this:
"The front wheels slip while in 4WD requiring replacement of the clutch plates as well as the use of SYNTHETIC GEAR OIL!"
Like you, it looks like the Auto maker seemed to think Synthetic is better too.
I'm getting closer and closer to puting synthetic in my vehicles.
