Just replaced both rear spring/strut assemblies on my 2002 XLT.

Both springs were cracked as many others have experienced. I went with Monroe pre-assembled spring/strut units. Being a cheap SOB, I went with the "EconoMatic" units instead of the "QuickStruts." Got both sides for about $180 total (with online discount) from Advanced Auto.

Question: Do I need to have an alignment done at this point? When I did the swap, I never disconnected the rear toe link. I did, however, remove the sway bar end link and temporarily disconnected the knuckle from the lower arm. Same on both sides.

So do I need an alignment now? Truck seems to track nice and straight, but I don't want to chew up my tires, which are relatively new.

Thanks for any input!
