street racing= you're a LITTLE in control, drunk driving= you are not in control. you can not even begin to compare the two. apples and oranges. if we are gonna compare the two, then let's see a kill ratio. how many deaths caused by drunk drivers every year compared to how many deaths caused by street racing. you DONT want to go there. drink driving will spank street racing's @ss. why did the "tempo" or whatever bump the 'stang off the road? why is no one bringing up this issue? wouldnt it have done just as much damage if they were on interstate NOT racing going speed limit and the "taurus" bumped the 'stang? racing or not, if the kid in the 'stang was bumped then it is not his fault. he could have been bumped while going 35 mph on the way to school. and, to agree with drew, if the current laws were enforced more now this would not be such a big issue. the lady who lives on a street had said in the article that it was a common "racing" street. you mean to tell me no one on that street cared? no one called the cops and said " hey we've got kids racing here every friday/sat. night you guys need to do something." ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS. what is the difference if i do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds in a king snake (777 hp.) viper that would be just normal driving, or if i do it same speed in my X at wide open throttle? they are both accelerating at the same rate but one is racing and the other is moving along at a lazy pace. one i get a ticket in and the other im fine because the cop didnt hear it wound out at 6000rpms.
