All you speed racers check this out!!!

street racing= you're a LITTLE in control, drunk driving= you are not in control. you can not even begin to compare the two. apples and oranges. if we are gonna compare the two, then let's see a kill ratio. how many deaths caused by drunk drivers every year compared to how many deaths caused by street racing. you DONT want to go there. drink driving will spank street racing's @ss. why did the "tempo" or whatever bump the 'stang off the road? why is no one bringing up this issue? wouldnt it have done just as much damage if they were on interstate NOT racing going speed limit and the "taurus" bumped the 'stang? racing or not, if the kid in the 'stang was bumped then it is not his fault. he could have been bumped while going 35 mph on the way to school. and, to agree with drew, if the current laws were enforced more now this would not be such a big issue. the lady who lives on a street had said in the article that it was a common "racing" street. you mean to tell me no one on that street cared? no one called the cops and said " hey we've got kids racing here every friday/sat. night you guys need to do something." ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS. what is the difference if i do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds in a king snake (777 hp.) viper that would be just normal driving, or if i do it same speed in my X at wide open throttle? they are both accelerating at the same rate but one is racing and the other is moving along at a lazy pace. one i get a ticket in and the other im fine because the cop didnt hear it wound out at 6000rpms.

Just because you scored high on the SAT's doesnt mean anything ... judging by the way you were talking you were just proving that you were book smart and you lack common sence. That is not a bad thing and dont take that the wrong way. I dont want you to think that i am talking **** because i am not.

I used to race all the time. My parents have a 94 crown vicotria. When they first got it i thought i had the fastest car on the street. I was showing my friends how well it handled around corners and i have taken that same corner at least 20 times in the past with the same vehicle and nothing happend except a perfect turn at high speed. The last time i took that corner i had three friends with me. Something happed i have no idea what but the rear end kicked out and then spun the opposite way the next thing i know i am spinning uncontrollably. The car came to rest in someones front lawn about 2 feet away from a tree. That made me learn my lesson. I still drive fast and speed but when i do i am on the highway with little traffic and not many things to hit and going in a strait line.

... oh and while were on the subject lets just blame it on "The Fast and the Furious". cuz we all know that no one has a mind of thier own, no one can make decisions, and we must rely on tv/movies to do this for us. when are we gonna learn? if you F up then it is YOUR fault. the movie did not make you race. you did it. jeez, ive seen "Blade" like 10 times and you dont see me running around with a sword cuttin' people's heads off...

10 times !!!! holly **** your a time bomb waiting to explode ... remind me never to stand next to you while you have a knife in your hand.

Let me see if i can state my point a little better. As stated in another post, while racing you are a "LITTLE" in control. I would prefer my family not to be out in public while people are racing their 2-ton bullets while having a "LITTLE" control. Ok, the "might as well be drunk" was a little extreme, but not apples/oranges. Apples/oranges would be driving drunk vs. driving responsibly. Driving with alcohol in your veins vs. driving with adrenaline(that stuff they pump into your heart to bring you back to life) in them is not so very different. Either way, your thought process is not normal. About "Fast & Furious", I know it didn't have any dangerous effect on most people's driving habits, just like M Manson music isn't going to make most people satanists. My only problem with it is that maybe (only my opinion) the movie encouraged a few 16y.o.s who (or whom) aren't that good of drivers anyway, to go out and drive faster than their ability can handle. In my opinion, younger people tend to believe they are better drivers than they actually are (God knows, I did), and it's a hard lesson when they find out they aren't.

I do understand other's opinion's on this matter. I have done my fair share of racing ('73 Mach One, 300ZX tt, mod BMW) and understand the attraction of it. Now, I look back on a lot of what I have done, and realize how stupid and dangerous it was. Now that I have a family to protect, I wish the whole driving world was a little more careful, NOT just the racers.

I apologize for the "abrupt" comments I made in earlier posts.
