Almost There!!

I bought my 02 XLT new in October 01 and just turned 91K. But during the last few years I have worked on and succeeded repairing transmission/torque converter problems, every conceviable electrical issue with door locks,lights,chimes,airbag displays,no displays,keypad,alarm, and now facing the greatest challenge of all - the dreaded 'broken recirculation door'...... my wife will welcome this repair so she can put away the blanket, but I welcome it so I can sell it before another issue comes along!

Anyway,as previous testimonials have stated, this Site has been of enormous help with these problems, so for my last act I am seeking additional guidance. I have a new Fresh Air Door Assembly that I plan to install and have studied the www.denlorstools.com/autoblog review as recommended on our Site. But this is only a 'guide', very short on detail and leaves a lot of 'reading between the lines' for this major job of removing/swinging out the dashboard. I was wondering if anyone had installed a new assembly this way and has more detailed instructions and/or pics. [Sorry, I couldn't find anything new in 'search']

Steve, my problem is not the blend door situation, but the recirculation door that has broken and fallen to the bottom of the Fresh Air assembly [located under the passenger side of the dashboard and allows fresh air to come in or closes it off to allow recirculation of cabin air]

Ahh, my mistake. Hopefully someone else who can help will chime in

You have to pull the dashboard out which is a pain in the a**. You can buy that part of the heater box separately at least and its only like $150-200. I have done quite a few over the years.
