o yah talk about dropping alpine for some amssive quality??? did i miss something

I've never, ever, had any problems with any of the Alpine gear I've owned, and I've installed probably 2-3 dozen different pieces of Alpine stuff.

Personally I think Alpine's some of the best out there.

i dunno if alpine is the best quality out there..but its sure no lower then 3rd or so..anything alpine i have had has lasted a long time ( even with abnormal abuse hehe) and what is road gear? i just saw there price was 20 bucks lol =)

nah i find alot of people that have alpine..like to run all alpine they are a good brand...just a little pricey so for someone like me thats on a small budget they are not the best..not the worst either

just depends on how deep ur pockets go =)...or if u like MTX or now hehe

If you are willing to spend money on the cva-1003 and dva5200 just get the new alpine all-in-one unit IVA-D900. I have the cva-1003 no complaints on quality or craftman ship with the unit it is a good *starter* indash unit, but if you plan to expand your system doesn't have enough pre-outs to do so. It has 1 pre-out.....for $800 you think you would get more. I had one problem during the winter when I had heater on for long period of time the screen would overheat and cut out. It said "extreme heat overload" and cut out. Actually a good feature to make sure it doesn't fry. The indash is really not a good unit for a daily driver i think though. Not enough to shy away from it ;) Anyways that is a nice setup if you do decide to go with it. peace

I have always ran Alpine. I have had their stuff in many of my vehicles and never once had an issue with any of it. I will not let my family buy anything other than Alpine.

Yea very good price go for it they are both great products

I like my Alpine CDA-7894, first Alpine product I've owned. I still feel my SONY (yep I said it) CDX-MP70 sounded better though. Those units are awesome that you picked up!

ok!! i gottem installed, but i got a problem!! i cant control the cd or dvd player from the head unit?? it will play the whole cd,but i cant FF or RW a cd?? it'll play a dvd right up to the start up screen but i cant start the movie??i ordered an IR wire so i can use the remote but it seems like i should be able to control it from the head unit!

try holding down the button that skips to next track for fast fowarding thru a song. As far as rewinding during a song it's not possible. Controlling the dvd on the cva-1003 isnt possible. Your dva5200 needs to control that. Is their not buttons on the dva5200 to start the movie up? Yea the remote will take care of that for sure.
