In my superduty I have a Alpine IVA-W200 headunit.
Pretty straight forward, 4 speakers off headunit, 1 sub wired from "sub" output on the back of the deck.

I am having 2 issues, don't know if they are related or not
1) memory for head unit (presets, crossover controls, DVD memory, clock etc) completely flashes when the key turns off

2) Occasionally I get a humming noise from the subwoofer, it is not consistent, not alternator whine because it was doing this while the truck was not running, and not related to the level of volume.

I hooked a meter on the yellow memory wire at the harness and found that ample power is being delivered. I don't know if there is any other places I need to test because the monitor has wires for brake pedals and when it was installed I had them wire it to an aux switch. Also there is no fuse on the back of the deck like I have seen on some decks.

Thanks, radio's aren't exactly my specialty.

in dash navigation system

what is a good in dash navigation system for a 2007 sport trac. i dont want to do alot of modifing. just want it to fit the stock location. like for the system to be able to upgrade and have add ons.

wow Jamessmithii just totaly hijacked this thread... anyways I have the same deck, no problems here. You said you checked for constant power at the harness...which harness did you check? I would see if there is power at the harness that plugs into the radio, not the harness that comes from the car. Also I think the yellow wire has an inline fues. Did you check that too? The humming from the sub could be a number of things. I would check the RCA. run a new set to your amp and see if it fixes anything.

LOL no no, i was just asking what would fit my stock location since i didnt buy the 2007 sport trac with the navigation system.

2007 sport trac radio

is it hard to remove that radio? do i have to take the dash apart to get access?

Im don't know what the 07 dash looks like. More then likely you will have to take the dash apart to access the radio. Do a search on radio removal. Im sure you will find lots of info. As for the installation of this Alpine deck I did have to trim my bezel a bit to get the radio to fit.

studd thanks for the info, jamessmithii,I can't really help you as I don't have navigation or a '07 sport track. Audio/video is about last on my list, my unit is in my daily driver tow rig. There's nothing like loading up the Explorer on the trailer for a 5 hour trip to truckhaven and watching 2 movies and BAM you're there!

Studd469- yes I tested at the harness where it plugs into the unit and had power, also I did double check that fuse.

I called Alpine customer service. I am very impressed. one year warranty (I think I am out of that but maybe not). If under warranty no charge, if not, $105 and that will repair ANY problem with the unit. The guy diagnosed over the phone that the internal memory circuit was either blown or broke off the board.

I appreciate customer service that treats me like I deserve to be treated. On the flip side, my microwave was not cooking about 2 years ago. I called in and asked if there was anything I could look for in the unit. The guy said the only thing he could suggest was 1) is the unit plugged into the wall 2) is the door closed when you are trying to heat up the item. It was such a lame cookie cutter answer, you gotta be an idiot to call customer service before plugging it in or shutting the door...but I'm sure it's happened.

LOL thats pretty much what I told you to do. But if there is power and your memory keeps reseting then it has to be internal like the Alpine tech said.
