Alternator Power rating?

Hello all,

Im looking at putting in a Jensen 220w Amp driving dual 10" subs. I was wondering if the stock size Alternator in a 91' 4x4 XLT 4 Door explorer will handle this okay?

Just wondering thanks for any help.

yeah it will be fine, but if ya see your lights dimming then get a cap not a new alternator

you'll be fine. you could probably run six of those amps with no problem.
the stock alternator is 90 amps.
