ALTEZZA tail lights for '96-97

Did the taillights really change between '97 and 98, if so has anyone tried to make them fit on an earlier X.

Stay away from procarparts.com Many members have had problems with the lights, and customer service there is beyond horrible.

Ford changed the tail light assembly in '98...along with a new liftgate and bumper design. You can certainly change the tail lights, but along with that, you need to change the liftgate. I've heard rumors about a company starts making altezzas for '95-'97. So just hold your horses, they'll sell them...but not now.

hey go to clearlights.com clci on altezza tail lamps and u can order and see tailights from 91-94 and 98-00 they currently making lights for 95-97 model but u can preorder them if yea like to

uh, they've had 91-94 altezzas for about 2months ormore...

what makes me mad is they annoucned the 95-97s before those however.. and they STILL ARE NOT OUT.. they've been "overdue" for about a full month now.. and before that they were a year behind on the release already.. I think they're just trying to screw with our heads

at any rate.. we'll see.. search for the altezza issue on the 95-97s.. theres at least 3 posts that I remember..

they are the ones that annonced the production originally like a year ago.

they are still not avalible through this place. I called em like a month ago, the guy told me that they should be in "any day" (a month ago??) and that when they do come in, they're going on backorder for 30-40 days cos they will be sold out with pre-orderes

Not flaming you guys, if you like them then go right ahead and get em, its your truck, I just dont like em

The 98-01s fit the 95-97, they just look funny.

Notice the gap. I am pretty sure that those are just lamps made for a 99-01 X. I have seen 95-97s with them before, it looks kinda funny.

it depends on the vehicle and the style of lense, I haven't seen these yet so I can't make that call but I do not consider altezzas in most cases rice.

the problem is now.. with the ceased production of total clears, daily driver customizers are having a hard time finding something to put on their vehicle.. and I assume a lot of people aside from me.. HATES orange in turn signal lenses.. and would rather run ugly altezzas than uglier stockers.

personally I like my total clears.. which is another issue.. these are ont legal in most states.. so even if one does hav ethem they can't us ethemand get away with it in many states. as a result if they want any custom lenses its gotta be altezzas or bite the bullet.

I know yer not calling anyone names, I'm just presenting some insight as to why I personally am interested as to what may come ofthese alleged altezzas

i don't know about you guys but i think the altezza taillights look terrible. I haven't seen em on any explorer i liked. I agree with the clear lenses though, they look good. I got a black explorer myself and i love the blackouts, i take em off at night cuz otherwise you can't see worth a damn. Blackouts are cheaper and look alot better! No other way to go.
