Am i dumb or did K&N mess up

Ok
i ordered FIPK Gen II Air intake for my ex sport 01 and during installation a piece of rubber the connects the K&N tube to the throttle body was WAY TOO BIG

even with the grommett on to tighten it it left alot of gaps around the throttle body, but it fit the K&N tube fine,

Maybe the piece from K&N Needs to be a cone shape,
or
(just thinking out loud) my throttle body is too little (ford do sumthing wrong)

and i am 100% sure that the intake kit i used is made for my truck

anyone have any ideas
or maybe someone have the same problem?

part# of the kit that you bought? check it in reference with their website if its built for your rig..

yea i checked all of that, and its made for my truck

Are you sure it was for the 2001 sport, and not a regular explorer?

i actually emailed k&n 2 days ago and received a respose today..

i can try to email them for ya about your problem... maybe they must have given you a wrong part instead.. how about calling thier service line at (800) 858-3333?
