am radio static

I have a 2002 Ranger that has terrible AM radio reception because of engine static. I understand they no longer make alternator suppressors for engine static so what else, antenna ground, plug wires, ????? any help would be appreciated.:rangergreen:

Is it just the FM, do you get the same static on CD/Tape?

it's only on AM, FM and cassette and cd are fine

It could be a few things, interference near the cable, alternator, or just some internal wiring on the radio. That would be a lot of work for an 2002 Ranger. Your best bet is this noise filter.
