Amber Running board lights

I have been thinking of putting amber side running board lights on. But I was thinking of the strips instead of the led clearance style.

Has anyone done this, and what do you folks think?

I think it's definitely not my style. I don't want to do anything that even remotely resembles the Ricer look. But if it makes you happy...
