I would recommend either bypassing the factory amp, or removing it completely. The power running from a new amp, is alot greater than the power running from your factory amp. You should probably even rewire your speakers completely. Thats your best bet.

I had to wire the remote wire for the amp to the red wire so it power both cd player and amp on when I start it up. I am going to try that bypass adapter for the amp cause mine is pretty crappy, drivers side speaker goes on and off. That was happening before I installed my amp.

Agreed, you wont benefit at all from keeping the factory amp and aftermarket amp. I bought a Kenwood CD player from Crutchfield and they sent a whole 10' long harness to reach the rear and bypass the amp cus the CD player put out more power.

how big is the factory amp?

also i have all my wires hooked up correctly and all my fuses are good but i have no power to the head unit. any suggestions?

Its not very big at all. Like 6" X 6". Its located in the back on the pass side behind the panel under the glass. Yes you have to bypass it. It can't handle the power coming from the head unit.

Something is not hooked up correctly.

i figured it out
there was another fuse i didnt think of checking other than the regular radio fuse.
