I just got my Explorer a few months ago and have had my system in the back for a while but am finally ready to get things fully installed over the Thanksgiving break. I had an idea to remove the storage compartment on the passengers side and install the amp there somehow.

Anyway, I stumbled onto this site and searched but only found one pic of one actually installed (the one with the blue neon, just what I was planning on). My question is how big of an amp do you think could fit in there? I have an RF Punch 800 a2 (last years model). I really don't want to have to cut any interior panels, but still want to be able to access the amp. So how big of an amp does anyone have in there? Does anyone have any more pictures? Thanks.

It all depends on the dimensions of the amp you plan to put in there. I've seen some pretty large amps installed in that area, so the sky is the limit I guess, it'll just take some modding inside the panel to make it look nice. If you're wanting to be able to pull the amp out of the factory cargo hole, now that's a whole different story.

I'm the one whos pic you found. Check out these threads there are a couple more pics.
