Im with spta97. The jl 500/1 kicks butt. I have one going to my 2 Jls and i love it. Just a little pricey.Check ebay though. -TJ

I am also looking to get a an amp and new woofers. I was looking at a Kenwood mono class D amp KAC-X811D considering I already have a kenwood deck (KDC- X679). I would like to know if anyone had any opinions or info on this amp. I would also like to get 3 12 inch 4 ohm subwoofers to wire in parallel to get around 1.4 ohms. I am planing on building my own enclosed box and would like some suggestions. I am not planning on competing with this setup but would like something with a little precision able to hit some tight lows. Thanks

4.0 freak for your goals id suggest getting just one better quality 12 such as a RE x.., brahma etc. it makes enclosure design a lot easier, easier to find an amp, and will probably be cheaper in the long run.

as far as that kenwood amp....i did a setup in a friends 3 series bmw using that amp and was fairly impressed with it for a kenwood. Usually when i think of kenwood i think of regular run of the mill amps, nothing too special about them, they do the job nothing more. But this amp was actually worth the money and pumped his sub fairly nicely.

however id say there are better amp deals out there. JBL600.1 or 1200.1 are dirt cheap and put out good power

Agreed, I put a 12" x.. in a bmw and fed it 2000w and it is an absolute monster.

You can't go wrong with a x.. and an Orion 2500D or something similarly powerful
