yeah, i love pioneer HU, and some amps are pretty good too, but it all comes down to price.... keep in mind that u get what u pay for thats why i always try to buy the best and stayt away from the cheap stuff bc when u try to save money getting a cheap amp u end up having to buy a good one.... it happend 2 me with the boss now i only use it for highs and it still sucks lol..
good luck!!!
-let us know what u are thinking of buying BEFORE u buy it-
What impedance are your woofers? I assume they are each SVC 4 ohm, and you are bridging a 2 channel amplifier to each one? My recommendation would be sell both amplifiers and purchase a mono-block amplifier that does a solid 400 watts RMS into a 2 ohm load.
I've had great experiences with the amp below. It also will provide a solid 600 watts RMS, which allows you room to upgrade the subwoofers in the future, and some headroom to ensure you don't clip the outputs.
The main difference between the cheap amps and the expensive ones is companies like JBL dosn't lie about the output power and when they say 100 watts they mean 100 watts RMS while the cheap ones use bogus specs like Peak Power .... I can make a 10 watt RMS amp put out 1000 watts peak ... for a few milliseconds anyway
Peak wattage is for the most part a bogus measurement that can be twisted any way the manufacturer wants to ... that is why no pro sound or home stereo systems are rated in peak power but in the long ago decided standard RMS ....
A rule of thumb, if the peak power is in huge letters and the RMS power is in fine print (or non-existant) Run don't walk the other way, it's junk
The expensive ones are often not over rated. In the case of a Hifonics BX1500d. When tested it does 930RMS @ 1 ohm w/ I beleive it was 12.6 volts. So much for that 1500 RMS rating.
