Some of you have had this problem recently where you will come to a stop and the idle will drop and sometimes stall.. Well, I finally got a video of mine doing it. Hopefully this helps. It is about a minute long but it only does it in the first few seconds. I waited for it to do it again.

What do you think?

mine will do that once every two months... it's the wierdest thing. usually for me it happens just after shifting into any gear from another gear, rpms drop to 200 then recover, but sometimes it does stall

I just finished cleaning my IAC valve extremely thoroughly.

I've got to drive about 50 miles tonight so we'll see how it runs.

dont mean to hijack your thread brian but im having the same problem

ive got the code (rpms insufficient during idle) said it was the IAC valve but from what ive read the 02-03s have them but the 04-05s dont have the iac valve .. anyone had this problem?

Hijack away! That's what I want to happen!

The thing that's screwing with me is that it's not throwing a code at all. Just kinda doing it. I just left a buddies house and he said that my alternator might be kaput, and that my new halogens probably did it in... But if that were the case, there would be a code.

yeah on the 04's and up the computer simply cracks the throttle a bit to maintain control over the idle.

I haven't seen this issue yet. Now of course that I say that it will happen tomorrow. :D

Brian do you think it might be that your fuel filter needs to be changed? I'm just thinking that since it happens at idle only.

It shouldn't be, it was replaced just over a year ago. I only fill up at BP and they don't have crap gas....

Fuel filters are cheap enough so I guess I can swap it out... Where will I find it to change it out?

rear dr side door if im not mistaken

For stalling issues on 02-03's clean the throttle body and MAF to see what happens. Cleaning the IAC on these may not help, It may just need to be replaced. The coil that opens and closes the IAC is not servicable and can sometimes go bad. For 04 and up remove and clean the throttle body, perform the idle relearn procedure ( i think it is in the owners manual).

FYI the fuel filter is on teh passenger side in fron tof the fuel tank. There is a sticky thread on how to do it.

Is it happening when AC is on?

Mine starts doing this when AC or the Defrost (which activates the AC) is on. I think the compressor is going because it is cycling.
