Maybe I found a fix for this. I was cruising the web and found a common cure for cars. When the top of the door has an air whistling sound, the body shop will literally "bend the door over their knee". Over time the top of the door frame tends to bow out, and they just pull it in.
So I looked at my Mounty, and sure enough, the top of the door is splayed out a little. Tried bending it, but no way. It's just too strong. And if I do succeed, I'm afraid something might get damaged.
But, I think it can be adjusted by the hinge also. I pushed it in about 1/8". The hinge bolts didn't seem overly tight, so I wonder if that wasn't the problem. Maybe over the last 12 years the door tweaked out just a little. I'll find out later if I was successful.
