But yes, you run the risk of knocking the cover and losing your fluid. Or slipping and knocking the cover into the gears.

did you have a few anvils in the back of your x hokie?

Come to think of it, the jack had wooden blocks and was under the axle tube. but alec, we were in no way shape or form jacking the truck with the diff (eventhough the owerns manual says to jack the rear axle tube when changing a tire) ... geez, I ain't that dumb

Jason, nope, no anvils. So I should've been balanced the exact same as yours (cept we had the rear tires off)

Notice that this was going from 2dr springs to 4dr springs with 2" shackels, and relocating the shocks.

Sorry didn't get pictures of me "boxing in" the shackels.

It took about 20 min. to do the swap.

I supported the vehicle and then the axle, and just dropped the springs and installed the new ones with the shackels.

Once again: do not jack or jackstand from the diff; or be extremely careful when doing so!

This is not as critical as you may think.

so the 1st gen 2drs had a weaker spring pack also? looks like it has one less leaf? i thought it was just the 2nd gen that had lame 2dr leafs.
