Ok guys I have a question, I have a pioneer 500 watt amp, about 2 years old, and just recently when i crank up the volume if the bass is very high, the amp starts cutting out, if I turn the bas down it is fine or if I turn the volume down it is fine too! I just installed a set of 12" MTX thunder 4000's in a sealed Qlogic box, right before it started happening, all the grounds are good, the speakers are wired correctly, and the rca's are fine! WHAT CAN IT BE???????
Thanks for the help!

this may sound silly but try changing the fuse. even though it may not be blown, ive found that changing this somethimes remedies the situation. either that or you blew a resistor in your amp. its not hard to rebuild but try the fuse first. i hope that works. let us know what happens.

I agree with Exploder99. One time my amp cut out on me and I checked the fuse which was still intact, but after changing it, everything worked fine. It being stored for two years, did you play it before that or did you get it from someone else?

Other possibilities are:
1. dust which greatly contributes to overheating if it's been stored
2. you're just overplaying it and the amp is starting to cut out.
3. you're running 250 watts RMS each into the subs, the 4000s are made for 200 RMS, so you could be pushing them too hard.
