I have searched and not come across my particular scenario on the forum....

So I got 3 good years on my reman alternator which took a dump last week. Lifetime exchange from Napa got me a replacement. Battery is 16 months old. Now I get 12.4V with engine off. 14.4V running. But the charge light comes on and stays on after 20 seconds of running. My question is this... What is the single green wire plug from the alternator? Does this go to instrument cluster or computer for voltage signal? Bad connection here a possible cause for the dash light even though it is charging? I'm assuming that the frame of alternator grounds to motor which in turn is strapped to frame.

bump for OP! at 14.4 that seems pretty good imo.
