I have a 91 explorer with an auto tranny and i want to rebuild a motor to put into it. i have a chance to buy another ex relatively cheap but it is a manual trans. i work at a parts store and the only difference that i can find is in the cam. is there any other info that i may need? i tried looking on the ranger station but i didn't get a clear answer on there. what i need to know is if the motor is the same in a 91 and 92 for a manual and an auto? can i rebuild the manual motor with an auto cam and then just do a swap? this is going to be my first motor swap but not my first rebuild. i usually just take the motor out and rebuild it and put it back in. never really swapped engines around. Please someone just give me a straight answer!!! thanks in advance.
