Another Explorer Noise

Ok, another Explorer noise. Mine occurs/starts at almost exactly 70 mph. I dont really feel any vibration. It sounds like a low hum. Is it some type of strange wind buffeting? I do get a little vibration between 75-80. I have had tires replaced, man those BFG rugged trails sucked. Im almost at 50K. Any suggestions. Is your EX quiet on the highway at 70+mph. Im wondering if its some wierd sound with the luggage rack.

I noticed a strange humm when I first got my 02. It would only occur with the windows rolled down at high speed. I found it really annoying , other people didn't seem to notice it much till I pointed it out. I think it has something to do with the aerodynamics of the vehicle. I never did find out for sure. It definitely went away when I rolled up the windows.

This might be the famous whine sound coming from your rear differential. I would be sure to have that looked at.

Yeah this deff sounds like either rear diff issue or wheel bearings, prolly the diff though. Have it looked at.
