I have a 2003 4.0 Explorer 210k km, and I am on the 3rd flexplate. The last one only lasted 100km. I changed the torque converter and the tranny last time. I checked the crank endplay and it seemed ok, will check it again. I have read these ideas from previous threads but not many solution or reporting of positive outcomes.
Check starter
check endplay of crank
HD flexplates are available
Alignment has to be bang on
Obviously we have to figure out why the first one failed, alignment can be ruled out I think.
Does anyone have a positive solution they would like to share.
Thanks Cam
