I'm Zack. I'm about to start a fix-it and flip-it project. I bought a 97 explorer with 137k and a V8. What happened was... the CV shaft on the drivers side was making noise, so the owner pulled it out and tried to drive it like that. Well the tire fell off and dropped the front corner on the ground.

From what I can see, all it needs is a new brake caliper and brake hose, nothing else looks broken or damaged. I know nothing about explorer suspension and drivetrain. Why did the wheel fall off? Is it held on by the CV shaft? Unfortunatly the exploder isnt in my physical posession yet, so I cant get in there and look it all over. Any input would be good.

Here are two of my other toys I've built/am building.

I have to throw in a bump here...Why does pulling the CV shaft make the tire fall off?
