got a old chain saw make sure it runs and allways take it with you when out on the trails if you get stuck now you can make a fire if you leave you lights on to long and are looking for the way out here it is take the belt off you alt and then off your chain saw remove the bar and chain then put it with the belt on the alt start it up you will have the battery charged up in no time:thumbsup:

Cool idea.....but how does the belt go on the chainsaw?

I belive you use the Chain from the chainsaw to wrap around the pulley of the Altenator. Not the sepintine belt.

PICS?

more info

i guess i got in trouble i put this add in the wrong place i am new well why i am here let me add you take the chain off the chain saw and the barr slip the belt off the alternator then arround the alt and the drive of the chain saw pull back and let it rip the truck doesnt know where the charge is comming from and dont care it will work i have done it cutting fire wood and left the lights on too long in the case of the sepintine belt i would suggest buying a small one or any belt will work ok thanks for reading my hints more to come but in the right place if there is one

I've also seen this done with a cordless drill.

interesting...

I like the drill idea better...:D

at least i got you thinking

drill will work but it will take i little longer and drill will not cut you some firewood if you get stuck and have to stay the night i like to be prepared for everything

If there is sunlight out, portable solar panels can make a world of difference too....
