So if you follow my build thread, I took the explorer into the shop because that shift flare was scaring away everyone that were potential buyers. The shop told me "you need a new transmission". Even though it's rebuilt, they said that it wasnt rebuilt correctly and/or destroyed itself. He mentioned 2 new codes that I have never expereinced before...P0153 and P0734. The first code is an o2 sensor code (that is brand new as of the shop), and the other one didnt exist before. The shop said that the tranny was slipping from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th ect. NEver had any issues like that before. What could be going wrong? Could the rebuilder of my tranny done something majorly wrong or did the shop screw it up? I'm already going to lose money on this truck even if I get it working 100%, I need it working again...please help!

Bands are adjusted, shift solenoids are tested good, could this be a cause of the MAF? Someone fixed this exact issue by replacing it.

Please, I need some input here. I know, I should probably become elite...:)

Anyways, here are the details.

P0761 - SHIFT SOLENOID C PERFORMANCE OR STUCK OFF

P0153 - H02521 CKT SLOW RESPONSE

P0734 - GEAR RATIO ERROR IN 4TH

Tranny fluid at the correct level.

What could this be? I used my PocketScanner OBDII reader and all I got was shift solenoid C. I have never gotten anything but that, with some EVAP codes here and there. Has P0734 ever caused by the MAF?

JK? Poprichie? One more time...:)

Appreciate any input I get

I have never seen the P0734 caused by the MAF sensor, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean it anyways.

I cant remember all the you have done and what you said the builder did but one thing came to mind. There could be a chance that the servo that he installed is the wrong size for the cover. I have seen people install the wrong one before so it can happen. Just a thought.

Thanks for replying! Would you know why the codes aren't showing up on my little pocket scanner? I have never seen these codes except for the shift solenoid C one.
