Hi - new to the forum and have a question about a transmission problem on my 2006 Explorer. There is a severe hesitation when taking off from a stop. The engine roars but the vehicle won't accelerate as quickly as it should. It does move, but slowly. Then suddenly, it will snap back to normal. - If it were a standard shift, I'd suspect the clutch was slipping. The problem is intermittent but getting progressively worse.
I've had this to the dealer once and they couldn't recreate the problem, but I had them perform a flush and regular service anyway. It obviously didn't help.
This problem is different than the lunging problems I've read about.
Any suggestions? Any words of wisdom I should share with the dealer?
Thanks,
Dave
