Antenna won't go down.

The antenna on my 1999 Ford Explorer Limited won't come down. And, when I turn the car off, I can hear the motor running to try and bring the atenna down. Then it stops. Can I fix it myself?

You'll need to order a replacement mast. The toothed internals of the mast have broken into small sections (brittle with age) and are crumbled up in the antenna reel. You'll have to remove the unit from the truck, open it up, clean out the old mast remnants and reinstall the power antenna to the truck- then feed the new mast in. You'll get instructions with the new mast, I've had good luck with this place:
