Anti-theft System doesn't work!

No door ajar light. I've opened the passenger door when the alarm is supposed to be on and the alarm does not go off. There is no theft light or anything flashing. My 98 has a theft light flashing and others say they have a theft light flashing.

Yeah, turns out there is a (if I remember correctly) passive (PATS) and a perimeter system. I guess mine has the passive system so its just the PATS system and engine immobilizer. Only way to get a perimeter system is to go buy an aftermarket system.

look under the hook do you have a ford pin switch for the hood latch?

some i think it was taken out after 03 used to come with perimeter anti theft, which sounded the horn if the door was unlocked.

i know this is for 2002-2005 ex's but i have a 1997 explorer and its doing that same exact thing. my alarm wont arm so to speak. when i used to lock the vehicle the theft light would illuminate and then flash and once upon opening the truck the alarm would sound. now that light doesnt light up at all please help
