Any Advice Appreciated

In spite of a nagging urge not, I think I may be picking up another Ex in a couple weeks. I'm a tad leary, as last year after picking my wife up a 95 EB, we were at the transmission shop needing a rebuild. Left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Apparently not too bad, as I'm actually considering buying an Ex with ~200K mi

It's a 96 Limited V8, so I'm guessing that's the 302/4r70w como, right? While I've heard this is one of the more "stout" combos in the Ex's, I'm obviously stilla bit apprehensive...but I dig this Ex and the price isn't too bad.

Anything I can look at that would hint to looming problems, particularly in the tranny (but anywhere else at all is welcome too)?

Does it have an after market trailer hich, bald rear tires, if its a private sale, try to hint around and see if they've been pulling anything with it or if they tell you it is really fast out of the hole. These are a few good signs that the trani might be a little more worne than normal.eg., if they've been pulling a house trailer or large boat or peeling away from stop lights, chances are the trani's probably beat. Especially if it sounds like a good deal
