Hello all, I changed my plugs and wires a few weeks ago. I still have a slight rough idle. Changed TPS, cleaned MAF and IAC, new air filter, fuel filter and the gold plated fuel pump (due to pressure loss).

My owners manual says to use Motorcraft AWSF 32EE Gap @ 52-56

I bought the new plugs at Ford they gave me AGSF 32FM ??? I gapped them at 52

At the time I did not pay to much attention to the old plugs other than the gap was like at 62 but they all looked even wear.

I saved the old ones, tonight I looked them over and 4 are AWSF 32EG and the other 4 are AWSF 32E . I did a search and see that Ford did use different plugs to save $$$. Most of the posts were for the 4.o motor.

Could someone tell me if the plugs I got from Ford are correct and are they the double Platium? Also is 52 the correct gap?

Thanks as always.

How cheap can you get?

Yes, they are different plugs from the factory when you have one coil for two plugs. Instead of dual platinum plugs they sell for replacement, the platinum is either placed on the tip or body electrode.

I had the same problem, even changed the coil packs. The problem with mine was the replacement motorcraft wires. I bought a set of Taylor wires from Summit Racing and they solved the problem instantly. I had checked for loose connections several times and had rerouted the wires exactly. For me its the wires and not the plugs. Also, I used autolite double platimun in mine from Advance Auto Parts.

Don't mean to jump in here, but are the Ford plugs the best to run?

I'm personally a fan of NGK. I have them in my '94. Anyone running NGK in their 5.0?

I wish my rough idle was that simple, I changed the wires trying to get rid of the idle problem.

I've always been very satisfied with Motorcraft (Ford) plugs.

Alec,

So you'd just recommend running the stock plugs that for specifies?

Exactly.

I'm currently running the recommended Motorcraft double plats, but ones that are one heat range cooler than stock because of my supercharger.

I also use the Autolite Double Platinum plugs and am very happy with them.

Do you know what the gap is set to?

i have bosch plats and they work great....

Champion Dbl Plats here. Seem to be fine w/ 20k on them.

It took changing the wires twice to fix my problem. Did you use Motorcraft or Taylor wires? The Motorcraft wires did not work for me.
