I know that this pic has been on here before, but I am very determined now to find one and if necessary ship from over seas. I just like these b rush guards. I signed up on a german explorer website to see what info I could get there. here are the pics:
Ich suche eine Firma, die diese brushguards verkauft. Wenn jedermann ein für Verkauf hat oder mich auf eine Firma verweisen kann, in der ich ein für meinen Forschersport (Ford Explorer Sport)1993 kaufen kann. Danke. Wenn Sie Antworten bekanntgeben, kopiere ich zu meinem translater und reagiere.
Hey I figured it was worth a try to see if I could get one from Germany where I know they have very strict laws on body rust and so on. Its highly possible that I could find this in a wrecking yard. Who knows maybe even open up a channel to get some european exterior parts.
if you really wanted one, couldnt you make a deal for someone on the german site to buy one and ship it to you, and you pay for it, plus a little for their "troubles." done, of course, on COD.
Well here is what I have found out so far. The guards were offered as add-ons in the European Ford Accessories Brochure. They were made for Ford by a company name "Haslbeck". They were only made for 90-94 Explorers(that's what it said). Of course the company is not in business anymore so the parts are only available on the used parts market. I found two of these on Explorers on a German Explorer Forum website, similar to this one. I had to join it and in return one of their moderator's joined this site. One of the guys started by saying he didn't want to sell his. The other guy I have heard from.
They have given me some good links to used part suppliers in Germany. I am in the process of corresponding with one of them that seems to be linked somehow with Explorer Express. Good they write and read English, much easier than using an internet translater. I have also been directed to a couple firms that make custom brush guards or as they call them "Ramming Guards".
I'll keep you posted. In the end I may just get pics and specs and have one fabricated, but I will keep this as a last resort.
