any idea what this bolt is for?

does anyone know what this bolt is for (very top). It's next to the oil pan and looks like it could be part of the transmission cover. I don't think the transmission has a drain plug. This is for a 2001 2WD ST. I know there is a rear differential, but not sure if there is such thing as a front differential. Here is the link. Thx in advance

the top bolt that is pointing forward is holding the transmission and upper pan/girdle together. there are two of these bolts.

The transmission does not have a drain plug from the factory

is there a front differential on a 2wd ST ?
