Ours has begun to squeak when rolling down the window. Apparently something dried out in the AZ heat.
I had the same issue too. I just pulled the door panel and greased all the pivot points on the regulator. And actually had to clean out the top where it hits the weather stripping. And hasn't squeaked sinceOurs has begun to squeak when rolling down the window. Apparently something dried out in the AZ heat.
I'll take any hints at removing the inner panel.![]()
I have a 2000 Ford explorer. With my panels it's just two screws right above the door handle latch and then clips that hold it top bottom side and it's pretty easy to get off. A lot of the clips will break but you'll see what you need to get and you can get those clipsI'll take any hints at removing the inner panel.![]()
Mine started sounding like tires squealing. The next time I washed the car it stopped. A couple of weeks later it started again. Washed the car and it stopped.I had the same issue too. Ll if you say it sounds like tires squealing. It could either be the regulator is just a totally rusted or to season a couple areas or electric motors I'm a master electrician by trade electric motors when they get debris dust in them can kind of whine like that too so try cleaning out the motor or just replace it regulator or I don't know what else you could do hope that helpsMine started sounding like tires squealing. Which Ex? the 93? I believe they have the scissors-type regulator in them. My 98 is awkward but simple, pry out the inner panel all arount the sides and bottom, has plastic fasteners, half of them will get wrecked. Then there are 2 screws where the interior door latch is. Don't forget the mirror directional switch at the front top of the door panel (assuming 1st gens have them also) Push it in to release. Finally push up from the bottom to release the top where it goes into the door frame. While pulling out a bit to free up the door handle inside. The whole armrest/switch assembly slides inward.I'll take any hints at removing the inner panel.![]()
