I am looking to install my lift on my Navajo. It is a Combo lift James Duff, OME springs, coil spacers, Warrior Shackels. But I would like to get it done in one day if possible. This is where some of you come it. I know some are too far to drive to help. I would like to do this on sunday April 22 or sunday april 29 I want to get it done before MOAB. I will provide refreshments of choice along with dinner afterwards. This will all take place at my house in Victoria, Tx.

I am Thinking of a Few people that might want to help off hand.

I might be up for the 29th, but thats a less than 50% chance. I'll be moving back to Houston May 7th, so would for sure be up to doing it after that, but thats cutting it close to Moab.

No cutting it close is doing it the night before you should be leaving for Moab.

lol, how's that for confidence in your work? Install a lift and drive on it for a few thousand miles. Any problems would work themselves out, right? hehe.

Alec,

It looks like Rod is going to come down the 29th. I dont want to cut it any closer than I have to since I still need to get the tires and alignment before taking off for moab. I am Still waiting to hear from Michael.

Kris, how long is the drive straight from Victoria to Austin? I might go to Houston on Friday, work with you on Sunday, and drive back Sunday night. Is it an easy drive? It would work well because I could start moving stuff back that weekend. A full Splatload of stuff would make the move a lot easier.

Kris,

I can come down on the 29th. Just email me with details. Is is okay if the dog comes down, I promise i'll keep her out of the way and clean up any deposits?

Alec, Driving from Victoria to Austin is very easy drive. it is only 120 miles at most but the drive throught the towns can get bothersome kinda like small speed traps.

Michael, I would not mind the dog. I am not sure how well my Cat will take it. I will e-mail all with the address to my house.

Any body want to set a time.

Maybe sometime early, not too early. Like 1030 or 11? That way us Houston guys have time to get down there and I'll be able to head up to Austin by early evening.

120 miles should take me about an hour.....lol
Seriously, two hours and change isn't that bad. Count me in!

Kris,

My beast is acting up again but I might be able to come and help too. If nothing else for moral support. How is your tool collection? Got a compressor?

Tools

I have all the tools needed to do this. I also have a two car garage at my disposal. It would be helpful for Alec if he wants to install the Skid plates on Splat. If any one wants to bring an Extra set of Jack stands that might help.(I have two sets of Stands).

Time:

11:00 sounds good to me...

Do you still have the rivots in place?

11 sounds good. As far as tools I'll be bringing, I'll have my ratchet set and a few wrenches and misc tools. Kris, if you have a full wrench set that would save me from buying a few more. I'll try to bring a ramp set that my friend has. They lift the truck about 8", that's all I should need to put the skid plates on. I just need to buy the bolts to put the skid plates on. Anyone have any idea of the size and length bolts I need? Is class 5 ok or do I need class 8 bolts?
Thanks.

All the rivits took a hike this morning. Me and my Dad took the last three out(one other was removed a while back). I took the ones from the cross member out when I coverted to 4x4...

Alec,

I'd go ahead and get all grade 8 hardware. Compared to grade 5 it's only pennies more.

Kris,

This shouldn't take long at all. 75% of the time I spent installing my lift was dealing with those damn rivots...

Lift list so far...

1. Me
2. Alec
3. Sinjin (Rod)
4. Michael
5. Doug Moore
6. Conyl (CHH777)

Any one. else.

Tool Request

Ok guys I need only one tool if any one has one let me know. I really need a 9/16" drill bit for the Shackles I stil have the 1/2" bolts in there and want to replace them with the 9/16 bolts I have the bolts I just need to drill them out. But the biggest drill bit I have is a 1/2" bit.

If no ones has one That gives me a week to find a bit.

Are all six of you going to be under the X at the same time? Sounds to me like there's gonna be as much supervisin' and funnin' as working! I know at least one of you will end up sitting on the milkcrate watching everyone else work and drink all their beer. ;)

Kris I have a bit but that's a little far to bring it. It ain't cheap. It'll cost you $15-20 at Home Depot or Lowe's depending on which one you get.

Gerald there will be lots of X to work on if some one it really really board. We can always pull another one in the garage and do some work on it.

From My Count there will be 9 Explorers parked at my house on Sunday.
