lets see i have bought the superlift 5.5" lift with extended radius arms and SOA. i have only had it on for about a month or maybe two so far i have broken both axle perches bent both front sway bar mounts. from breaking the axle perches it caused the axle wrap wich in turn broke my drive shaft yoke, u-joint and i believe it has messed up the pinion gear ( lots of slop in the pinion gear now and i can't remove the yoke from the flange to get to the pinione bolt, could be it busted the bearings in it) the only thing i think that is going to hang in there is the extended radius arms. they seem pretty strong. i have yet to get rid offthe sway and it doesnt seem to want to be aligned good. just over all im not to happy. im in the process of talking to superlift about the broken axle perches wich caused other broken parts. i know there are a few other people that have had these problems so let me know it might just give me a lil more back up.
Thanks,
Howard

I don't like mine! I'm currently int he process of deciding whether to waste the time to fix/reinforce many of the brackets or to just do a solid axle conversion.

solid axle

yeah im about ready for the swap too. just got to get all the money together and stuff. im trying to find out what is the best year and what truck to get the axle out of though, any tips. thought there might be some ears to stay away from and some years are narrower so it would be easier o fab up. well let me know. did you have any parts brake on your lift?

I am with you guys on the Superlift front end driving me closer and closer to a SAS. I think the drop down bracketry is suspect and would not take really hard abuse. I like the spring over but the first thing I did was tack weld the perches to the axle so they absolutely will not move around. I was having trouble with some swaying also but it was solved by installing heavy duty anti sway bars from Perf. Products. I have to disconnect them for any off roading but that isn't too tough. I also run 9000's with the setting on 4 for the front. You should run the superlift with a few minor adjustments for a while to get used to the feel off road and save all available cash for a nice Dana 44 to swap in. Hope the rear end isn't hurt as our 8.8's are now the new axle every one wants so you'll be paying for it even at the JY.

superlift

Are you guys talking about the same kit that would fit a 2000 explorer sport 2dr, cause im thinking of trading my trailmaster knuckles for the superlift knuckles to regain my stock steering. I hate the way my truck steers right now, especialy on the highway.

Wow, the same thing happened to me, so I'm going Solid Axle. I just purchased a 79 Bronco to be a donor to my truck, so I can get rid of the Stupidlift 5.5!

Skyjacker

Is the skyjacker 6" still available anywhere I know there had been talk about it being discontinued but then never heard anything else. If I don't go with the 302 now then I am going to do the lift next, and I want to stay away from the superlift, more so after this post!!

Not to be the bad guy here but I have yet to have a single prob with my Superlift lift. Its been rolled twice and basically tortured on the trails and I have yet to bend, break, or snap anything. I don't agree with you guys on the lift part but I do agree with you guys on the solid axle conv. part.
I just bought me a 79 bronco for my donor truck. The only thing I'm worried about is it has a lift on it. The radius arms and coils are huge! Oh well I might go with leafs any way.

just my .02 cents worth
