the intructions and parts didnt seem like they were really made for my vehicle. was wondering if anybody has installed one on an 01 sport. its in there and works but i just wanted to talk to someone.

1st issue: the intake tube seems too big for my intake its on there but the little black hose sleeve that connects the two is so squished.

2nd issue: the crankcase hose and that other stupid hose was a huge issue. drilling the 5/8" hole in the intake and i put the grommet in but my hose wouldnt fit through the hole. there was NO way it was going thorugh. instead of writritng a paragraph im hoping somsone else had the problem.

thanks

are you sure you got the right one for you x if i remember right there are 2 different ones for 01s it depends on the manufacturer date on my intake i had no drilling i only had one hose that connected to the intake some have 2

yah my explorer has 2 hoses, urs only has one? mine had two hoses going to the original intake hose. one came out what i believe is the crankcase. then another hose came out the middle/top of the engine around the intake hose back under and in right beside the crankcase hose. the instructions called for drilling if there was another hose so i assumed it had to be the right kit. and it says on the instruction manual 2001 explorer sport..along with other makes/ models

if you look on k&n's website there are 2 different kits one that has 2 hose hole on one side and on kit that has one hose on one side and if needed drill a hole on the oposite side in each of the kits the parts have different part numbers thus the rubber piece connecting to the TB will be different betweeb kits the kits differ from time of manufacturer all the kits will say 01 sport but you need to know when your x was manufacturer the first or second half of 2000

that pisses me off mopac didnt mention anything about two different ones they said there is only one for my truck and i bought it.

do you think i can get the right one for my truck from them or did they ###### me. it isnt my fault its theirs

you also can jsut put a crank case breather/filter on one hose

im just worried about my pcv valve hose, ill take a pic to show u guys how it looks.

looks fine what you worried about?

instead of drilling mine i took the "tubing" from the PCV and put a breather/filter on it. no issues no worries plus no offense but i personally think the filter looks cooler. what did you seal the hole you cut yours with?

i might stick some putty around it, but weirdly enough the hose was the perfect length and the hole was the perfect fit. the "dick" lip on the hose went right in and couldnt come back out and the hose was such a good length that when i installed it it pulled onto the intake tubing and is snug

no reason to change it then! i think i would seal it though
