I'm still learning the rules, hope this is okay to post... I e.mailed Westin about the cargo carrier today, response pending. I have an 03 I'd like to put that on... if they can't tell me, I'll have it fabricated... and the lift is nice, mine is pending also.

Thank you! It took a month to find them... They are covers. The original grill was painted by the same shop that did the lights... and they installed the upper, they are not easy to install. I did the bottom grill, and that was a mistake... it took 8 hours.

i love the rim and tire combination... ive had my fair share with aftermarket lights though and i wish i couldve fit some in that spot but the grille guard prevents it... did u get the trim that was pre-primed to be painted or is that the rough grey trim after being painted? looks great

Hi there...

Thank you! The trim was repainted by a shop that has a contract with Ford. The rim and tire I've had in mind, but it was another gentleman that found the rim. I don't know cars, I'm just learning.

The tire, me, that's why it rubs a bit... that (slight) tire rubbing issue gets to me. It's only the right side... The material in the wheel well is a bit cut up at the moment, but will be replaced. I also want it to look aggressive, but not too offroadish or too street... but I need it to handle both well - by offroad I mean trips to the Sierra during Winter, that's my offroading. If the lift happens, it will be 1" up front, 1.5" rear... and the cargo carrier has to look factory or it won't happen... but the factory roof rack will go.

Wow that westin explorer looks so awesome. I love the silver grill guard and that understated roofrack, and the lift is perfect! Yours is definitely off to a nice start. Keep us updated.

I do change my mind on future mods daily... it has to be what you like or it starts to feel overdone, you know?

Thanks! I emailed Westin, I'll call again on Monday...

I know exactly what you mean...i still think about selling my truck occasionally and starting over haha.

u sure u dont mean 1.5 in front and 1 in back since its already uneven? and btw if ur lift doesnt work out (due to them always pushing the date back for the struts) u can always do what i did... go to coilsprings.com and order a set of 2" lifted coils for the front... it gave me a nice level look and prevents tire rub... works for me

Very nice!

Now that looks sweet! I will do the coil springs if needed, thank you. What's the approx cost? I just reordered the front end wheel wells (black covering) so that we can toss out the temps... so those coils would be perfect! How long for delivery?

I like the front a bit lower... But you're correct, it should be 1" in front and 1" in back to maintain the same stance... but I gotta lean, I'm old school :D

Donner can you get a picture of the front of your truck during the day. I would really like to see how it looks on a red truck

I'm not sure...

Hi there... The grille or the lights? I'm sure I have one here... but I just got the Westin bumper guard today, it should be installed by Friday. I want to do the before and after, so I'm being cautious on the pics... Let me find the front end, and I'll post it...

Bigapple, I spoke with Coilsprings.com about the lift, that's a good deal. It takes them a few weeks to get them out to you, but it would be worth it! That I will keep in mind, thanks again!

The cargo carrier by Gobi for the Explorer has been released, and they say they are trying to get it on to the website. They are costly though... Not sure if I can swing it, but we'll see. I asked if the light bar is removable so you can keep sticky fingers off of them, and they are checking in to it... That would be the end of my budget though.:(

front end...

cropped to avoid the "before" but the smaller tires still show... and you can see the "before" gray trim...but this is the passenger side...

I have to zap these pics later, but I'll leave them here until the Westin is attached...

Couple more garage shots...

doing before and after, need to remove current shots...

donner where did you get that grille?

It's under another post...

donner where did you get that grille?

I forget the name at the moment, but they are about the best grille shop online. They got them here in no time, great service! They are grille covers... the shop I use powdercoated the original plastic black, and then went to work on putting in the grille cover... Check out the store, it took a while to find them, but they are very good!

I'll repost the name in a few... thanks!

That must have been incredible! Any damage from the sand getting under the vehicle? Some of us only dream of days like that!

Which picture exactly are you referring to? Haha...no damage from the sand, but the driver is another story. :)

The clear corner with white lights is sweet! Consider that idea borrowed because I'll be doing the same today... I have amber, I'm going to switch them out with the white, that looks cleaner... I have the clear corners too, but with the amber bulb, I just thought what's the point?
