Anybody using Synthetic ATF,....

...in their 6R60 transmission? I do know that synthetics are superior lubricants in many other areas. I also hear things about servo bore wear, etc, in these 6 speed transmissions. Seems they would like a superior lubricant.
 






I'm about to get the fluid flushed in ours, seems they are all running a Mercon V fluid which I believe is full synthetic. I haven't yet read what the owners manual says but I'd use what it recommends be it a half or full synthetic. I'm actually just getting to need to know what's what with our tranny as I'm sure it's due to be changed. I'd go get the manual now but the Explorer is in use at the moment!!

I just talked to the local xmission guru today. He confirmed it was the better stuff. One of the attributes of synthetics is that they oxidize at much higher temperatures. Oxidation is one of the things that renders conventional fluids kaput. They are also better lubricants by every measurement of lubrication. He uses Amsoil if customers agree.
