I'll be removing the spare tire and putting it on a swing tire carrier. Anyone here put in a secondary rear tank? If so where did you source your tank from? I run across the bronco II's occasionally for parts, i was thinking one of those might fit, then a solenoid switch from a dual tank F250 and some custom wiring might do the trick.

I have seen guys use a fuel tank for a bronco ll in between the frame rails where the spare tire is. I'm pretty sure I've seen a thread on here about it maybe one of the bronco guys can chime in.

just putting this out, this is also part of the lawsuit of the jeeps, that cause the tank to leak, start a fire in a rear end collision.

I put a BII tank in and love it. Fits right between the frame rails. Same pump and sender so everything wires up nice and easy-- BII skid plate fits good too!.

Right on i will definitely be doing this then. Did you keep your stock tank also or just convert over to the rear as a stand alone?

Prety sure he did it to remove the stock tank to make room for a doubler.

Ah thats rad! i have a doubler in my samurai, Isuzu 2.2L diesel engine to isuzu transmission w/ t case to divorced samurai t case. I hadnt even considered that as an option for these guys. What do you guys run as a divorced T case? or is there some aftermarket bolt on one?

No divorce case that I know of.

3 guys cut down and machined new plates to add a second low range 1350 box inline between the tranny and t-case. One was T&M and it is the longest at just over 8" and uses it's own pump and oil. It is no longer being made. I have one in my Bronco II. Another was called the Stubler and was the shortist. It had holes drilled in the shaft and uses the pump in the rear case to oil the doubler box (front bearing). It is no longer made. I have one in my 94 Sport. The last one is in the middle in length and a kit you buy. It moves the fill plug up higher and uses splash oiling for the front bearing and internals.. You supply another 1350/54 t-case and cut it down and use the parts supplied. Duffy is still making these kits but it has been posted he is difficult to contact. And waits for him to do a production run can be months. But other folks have been lucky and caught him at a good time and he had the parts in stock.

The 2dr Sport runs out of room fast with stock trans and any addition. I went with earlier, shorter, non overdrive trans and the Stubler and it all fits with the tank in the stock location. 4dr models have more room.

Yep about sums it up!

I also installed a Bronco 2 fuel tank in the rear, and kept the original as well.
