Just got one today in the mail for mine. Its the "Driver Seat Recliner Bolt". WTF is that? Is there a bolt missing, comes loose. Anyone get this too?

Lots of people with 98+ X's are getting them... Just like they said, the bolt is bad, take it to Ford and they'll fix it free of charge...

i got 1 too...im just gunna wait till it breaks to get it fixed....if it aint broke dont fix it...lol

I have heard tells that a person could be driving and the bolt brakes. The seat would then fall backwards, causing your arms to leave the steering wheel, the driver would then lose control of vehicle causing a crash and perhaps death.

Umm... Its a saftey hazard, thats why its a recall... Ford dosen't want to fix things for free if they don't have to... Believe me, they're doing this to to cover their butts incase people start dying... People probably already have because of this and that is how the recall started...

I know what a recall is i was just saying has anyone else had this done yet or gotten the same mail.

Most, or all 98+ Explorers are recalled for this. Apparently, the bolt was not the proper grade, and as Garth said, it can break with no warning, letting the seat back go all the way back. I already had mine done. I also had a second recall on mine for the cruise control. Apparently it could stick "on" and cause the vehicle not to decelrate when you disengaged the cruise.

I don't understand why anyone would wait to have this done. It doesn't cost you a penny, and it could keep you from having an accident....

I am going to have it done on my X... especially before I make the 2000 mile trek out to Colorado Springs if I get the job out there.....

I figure even if it is something as small as a bolt... better safe then....well dead...

I got a post card from Ford yesterday about this. I had previously, a month or so ago, also received an official notice,

This is the first time I ever received a second notice,.
