I have a 20 ton press and was wanting to try and re-arch my rear springs. I don't want to add any blocks or longer shackles, but I'm looking for 3" of lift.
It's for a 91 Ex Sport 2 door. Any help would be great!

I had a 80 F100 that we rearched the springs to increase load capacity. It worked great then. I do not hear much about it nowdays though.

Good luck.....

how did you go about doing it? Or did you have a shop do it? Thanks.

i'm going to have my rear springs rearched in the morni. I'll let ya all know what i think about it after it's done

well i went out my local spring stop. and they told me that it would be about 350.00 to have it done . So for now i think i'm going to wait. and see if i can find a better way to carry the weight that i 'm carrying.

If you don't necessarily need the 3" of lift but rather carrying capacity to pull or haul loads flat & even, not sagging, use airbags. I love mine. This is what 18-wheelers have used for years. On heavy enough trailers, I've gotten where I'll add more air than necessary to even the vehicle to bias the steering in windy conditions.

I had a spring shop do mine.

holy crap, $350 to rearch springs? When my dad's springs started going bad on his F-150, we bought a pair of brand new springs from Ford directly (figure they jack up their prices an extra 50% just to be safe) and it was only like $250. Of course we didn't get any lift or anything (actually it lifted it up, but only back to its original height) :).

Well I was just wondering if anyone knew how to go about doing it yourself. That is what I want to do. Just looking for pointers. The reason I want them rearched is for extra lift. Maybe I'll just do the axel conversion to put it under the springs. Anyone know how much lift I will get doing that? And thanks to everyone for their help. Later
