I always thought they were cool on the VW bus, and have wanted one on my Explorer for awhile. Unfortunately they are a few hundred bucks, so the wife says no.

I wanted a power one like on this page, but couldn't find one as big as I needed.

Try to find a kit from a different company though. Alot of people have complained about the streetbeat quality and customer service.

One problem may be the roof rack strips. Not the rails but the small black strips that protect the paint from being scatched when stuff is loaded on the roof.

I would love to see this done though! DO IT!

Mine doesn't have any protective strips. Just the rails near the edge of the roof. I don't even have any cross bars.
